HFA Produces 3rd Quarter 2010 Top 10 Publisher Airplay Charts

NYC-based The Harry Fox Agency, Inc. (HFA), which provides licensing and royalty calculation and distribution services for the music industry, announced that they have produced their third quarter 2010 Top 10 Publishers Airplay Chart for the Top 100 songs and the Top 10 Country Music Publishers Chart for Top 100 country songs.

The Harry Fox Agency has just released the 3Q Top 10 Publisher Airplay Charts

The charts are exclusive to Billboard magazine and will be available in the November 20th issue, currently on newsstands.

HFA’s research team collects data necessary to formulate these charts, which identify the industry’s market leading music publishers based on airplay of songs in their catalogs. HFA represents over 46,000 music publishers, including the top 9 publishers on this quarter’s chart, which is an asset as they provide the necessary data to determine publisher’s share of a song.

The quarterly Top 10 Publishers charts are created by HFA based upon airplay data provided by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (Nielsen BDS), and are the only charts of their kind in the United States.

Chart Methodology: For the Top 100 songs, percentages are calculated based upon the overall top 100 detected songs for the quarter from the over 1,500 U.S. radio stations. For the Country charts, percentage calculations are based upon the overall top 100 detected songs from 192 U.S. Country radio stations. These stations are electronically monitored by Nielsen BDS (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) during the period 7/1/2010 to 9/30/2010. HFA has identified publisher information for musical works, including information for publishers not represented by the company for licensing.  A publisher is defined as an administrator, copyright owner and/or controlling party.
