DiscoDSP Releases Corona Synth For Mac and Windows

DiscoDSP is an online synth plugin distributor that sells a variety of synths from your typical subtractive synthesizer, to FM and even additive. Disco DSP recently announced a new addition to the pack with the synth named Corona.

The intoxicating matrix of Corona will...uh...intoxicate you.

What makes this synth unique is that although it has many other features, it also has an 8-destination matrix modulation section. With this, if you don’t already know, you will be capable of assigning the parameters of one of the many oscillators, LFO’s, envelopes, etc. to control another like parameter of the entire virtual instrument. This results in very unique sonic timbres and capabilities.

The Corona Synth is available now for trial or purchase for €95 or $136 MSRP and is available for Mac OS 10.5+ as well as Windows XP/Vista/7 in AU or VST. No word on Lion though…so tread softly! Here are more detailed specs straight from DiscoDSP themselves:

“32 and 64-bit, virtual analog and wave synthesizer for Audio Units, VST hosts featuring 3 VA + WAVE oscillators, up to 14 combine modes between oscillators resulting in extensive timbres, 8 destination matrix modulations, 3 LFOs, 3 ADSR envelopes, unison, chorus, delay and limiter effects with high-quality sound and analog modeled filters using a straightforward and easy to use interface.”
