Heard City Unveils 7,000 Sq. Ft. Audio Post Facility in the Flatiron District

When 2012 was all fresh and new, SonicScoop reported that a trio of audio post pros had departed Sound Lounge to start an as-yet-unnamed facility in the Flatiron District.

Seen...and Heard City: (l-r) Philip Loeb, Gloria Pitagorsky and Keith Reynaud

The group – Mixers Phil Loeb and Keith Reynaud, plus Managing Director Gloria Pitagorsky — has officially taken the wraps off, with the announcement that their 7,000 sq. ft. HQ has been completed and been given the name Heard City.

The result is NYC’s latest competitor in the boutique audio post-production company category, servicing the advertising, motion picture and television sectors. In addition to the founders, Heard City’s roster of mixers and sound designers includes Cory Melious, Jodi Levine, Evan Mangiamele and Brian Scibinico.

Together, the group will be working out of a roomy, Wayne Turett-designed space. Brooklyn-based design firm Brook Landscaping was commissioned to decorate the loft, using unconventional wall surfaces, custom furniture pieces and reclaimed materials.

The facility consists of five mix rooms, including a Dolby-certified 7.1 cinema room and four 5.1 surround-sound studios. Heard City was designed with complete system and room parity, along with the most current Pro Tools platform available, to allow projects to seamlessly flow from one studio to another.

Heard City has been busy, even while under construction. Their client list so far includes Budweiser, IBM, Puma, NFL, Google, ESPN, AT&T, Time Warner Cable, Microsoft, American Express, Dish Network, and Target.
