DMAX Audio Launches — Four Distinctive New Mastering/Mixing Plugins for Mac/PC

Our spies have informed us of the arrival of a new plugin company from Russia: DMAX Audio.

The DSE stereo enhancer is one of four new mixing/mastering plugins from Russian upstart DMAX.

According to agents, these rocket scientists are determined to close the gap between digital audio processing and analog. Their master plan has culminated in the launch of an all-new set of mixing and mastering tools.

Will these Mac/PC VST plugins prove to be your ultimate weapon? The GUI’s may not blow your mind, but all four promise to bring distinctive new sounds and approaches to what they do.

Read on for more info from DMAX about the DEQ Type A 10-band Graphic Stereo EQ, $89.95; DLIM Loudness Maximizer, $99.95; DMAX Peak Limiter, $99.95; and DSE Stereo Enhancer $49.95:

“It is not a secret that digital signal processing is considered to be inferior to the analog one. Yes, the best analog devices sound great, but the digital processing may give comparable results. And we think that current algorithms of digital audio processing are far from being perfect yet, and we want to close or at least reduce the gap between the two.

We do not imitate analog devices. (If you need analog sound, you should probably use analog equipment). We suggest you totally new quality solutions based on non-traditional approach to software development. We hope you will like what we do and what we have done so far.

DEQ Type A

Is a linear-phase mastering quality 10-bands graphic stereo EQ based on phase shifts.

It has unique sharp sound especially at low frequencies. DEQ perfectly retains drums and percussions transients. It is ideal for complex audio signal equalization.

DLIM

Is a brickwall loudness maximizer based on superfast gain reduction.

It treats the sound very gently. There are several working modes with different modulation waveforms which allow to retain more original low frequencies in the mix. It is optimized for heavy limiting of hard music (up to -8/-7db total RMS).

DMAX

Is entirely new-type peak limiter.

It is based on the unique proprietary algorithm and can be used as a loudness maximizer of a complex signal with drums or percussions. For processing the signal DMAX does not use gain reduction therefore it fully retains stereo imaging and original drum transients. It yields completely different sound, unlike usual maximizers.

DSE

Is a stereo enhancer based on the S-channel equalization.

It is intended for changing of the stereo imaging of the mix. ULF-adding feature allows to make additional stereo effect.”
