Glyph Introduces BlackBox – USB 3.0 Mobile Hard Drive
Glyph has announced a new super-fast external hard drive.
The BlackBox is a mobile storage solution that is USB 3.0 compatible only, allowing for much faster transfer speeds than traditional USB 2.0 while providing bus powered storage.
With super-fast USB 3.0, the BlackBox isn’t as evil as it sounds.
The best part about the BlackBox is probably the price, considering it’s minimal yet advantageous capabilities. USB 3.0 has been around for a while now but hasn’t exactly been universally adopted yet because of its higher cost. Now that the tech is more mature, companies like Glyph can provide powerful and affordable peripherals.
The Glyph BlackBox will be available December 2, 2013 for $99 MSRP (500 GB) and $129 MSRP (1 TB) for Mac and PC.
