ZAOR Launches MIZA Z-Based Modular System Studio Furniture

Audio, ergonomics, and a sense of style – a powerful combination if you can find it for the studio.

It all starts with the MIZA Z desk.

It all starts with the MIZA Z desk.

That quest just got a little easier with the introduction of the MIZA Z-based Modular system studio furniture concept from ZAOR. Coming straight out for Romania, ZAOR has clearly put some thought into their new offerings, all based around their MIZA Z media production desk.

There are five new space-and-cost- saving solutions in all from ZAOR, all designed with needs of musicians, producers, project studios, and post-production professionals in mind. The objective: provide an attractive and adaptable platform that also allows users to decide what add-ons they need, and the ideal positioning for them.

ZAOR Studio Furniture is available in the US, as well as Europe of course. For full information from ZAOR and pricing on each, keep reading:

Characterised by its heavy-duty ‘Z’-shaped supports, the MIZA Z (€550.00 EUR, or $760.98 at today’s exchange rates) itself is available in black/cherry, grey/oak, or grey/wengé (dark grey) colour combinations, and features a spacious (1836 x 850mm) surface with solid-wood front edge, and a matching cable tray on its rear underside. Topside there is plenty of room for a sizeable DAW controller and computer monitor, for example. From the front, a large, pullout tray can comfortably accommodate all manner of peripherals — from computer keyboard to master keyboard, small mixing console to an array of compact and bijou controllers chosen by today’s technology-championing DJ/producers. The choice is out there. Take your pick.

Freedom of choice need not end there, however. Far from it, in fact. For further questions still need deliberation: do you favour an in-the-box recording approach using an all-in-one desktop audio interface, perhaps, or readily access a rackfull of great gear to make great recordings? Do you work with speakers or only headphones? Different approaches dictate different setups, something ZAOR fully appreciates and acknowledges with its flexible MODULAR system studio concept. As such, the MIZA Z media production desk can be expanded easily to integrate several specific add-ons as the user sees fit.

Speakers or computer monitors go on top of GRIPRACK, with 2U or 4U or gear below.

First up, the MIZA GRIPRACK is available as a MIZA Z colour-matching 2U- or 4U-sized rack space (2U is €180.00 EUR, or $249.05 USD; 4U is €200.00 EUR or $277.72 USD), with a padded top section onto which a speaker or computer monitor can be protectively positioned. As implied by name, simply slide it along the rear of the MIZA Z desktop then tighten it at the desired position. Up to three can be lined up in a row to provide up to 12U of rack space. Simple. And attractive and adaptable — just like the MIZA Z ‘mothership’!

Speaking of speakers, there is also a sensible solution for precisely positioning active nearfield monitors on the MIZA Z desktop as part of the MODULAR system studio furniture concept: the MIZA D-STAND (€130.00 EUR, OR $179.87 USD). Studio monitor placement becomes a breeze with these MIZA Z colour-matching desktop stands that are also helpfully height-adjustable to the millimeter thanks to a hidden screw thread — slowly spin the padded top section of the speaker stand to reach the optimum listening level for the user concerned.

Should you wish to use larger studio monitors and position them further away then ZAOR Studio Furniture have also got you covered with the MIZA Z colour-matching MIZA STAND MKII (€330.00 EUR, or $456.59 USD). Attractive and affordable, yet designed to the best possible technical performance standards, these floor stands are also height-adjustable (875 – 1206mm), while the AERstop pad at the top of the stand helps isolate the speaker from the stand to reduce lower frequency content propagation from speaker to floor and room.

Nearfields go nicely on the D-Stand.
