Eventide Announces Free New ‘EQ Compressor’ Algorithm for H9 Multi-Effects Pedal
Eventide has their tech reaching in all aspects of audio enhancement.
As a result, the H9 pedal is the manifestation of their array of guitar effects and pedals. The H9 pedal can embody algorithms from their existing pedals, referred to as “Effects Algorithms.” The H9’s Control app (Windows, OSX and iOS) upgrade, while including a newly updated UI, also includes a new EQ algorithm for the H9 itself.
The new algorithm, EQ Compressor, is a tool that combines EQ and compressor dynamics control that works well with enhancing frequencies in sources that takes up a wide spectral range.

The EQ Compressor from Eventide is free with the update only until Friday, June 20th for all existing H9 owners. Along with the H9 Control update, other algorithm updates are also available, including ModFactor, PitchFactor, and Space effects algorithms.

Eventide announced the release of a new version its H9 Control app for Windows, Mac, and iOS which includes a number of UI enhancements suggested by users and delivers a new algorithm to the H9: EQ Compressor for H9.
EQ Compressor combines a multi-featured, parametric equalizer with a dynamic, intuitive compressor to create a powerful tone shaping tool for guitar, voice, or any spectrally-rich sound.
The EQ section is comprised of four independent filters: two parametric bands, a low shelf and a high shelf. H9 Control’s graphical interface makes carving your tone easy.
Combining the tone-shaping ability of an EQ with the dynamics processing of a compressor makes for a world tone fun. The compressor section can be placed before or after the EQ and features up to 12 dB of boost to push an amp to awesomeness and beyond for your soul-shredding solos, enabling you to emphasize, harness, and control the parts of your sound you want to shine through a mix.
