That ages-old truisum was confirmed for both Metallica and Meyer Sound, when the former turned to the latter for a monitor that would make the group’s 2013 Antarctica appearance possible.

A show waaaaaaaaaay down south meant the legendary metal band’s live sound team needed a new solution to meet Metallica’s strict new onstage reinforcement requirements, including weight, footprint, power and clarity.

They collaborated with Meyer Sound to create the new self-powered MJF-210 stage monitor – 76 units of which now tour with Metallica. The MJF-210 stands as the lightest stage monitor that Meyer Sound offers.

Go behind the scenes with Metallica on tour via this video, which features show director Dan Braun, monitor engineer Bob Cowan, and assistant monitor engineer Adam Correia.
