Audio aficionados can expect to find just that at the new “1000 Projects” microsite launched by Cycling ’74, makers of the Max digital signal processing software environment.

The site celebrates the first 1000 projects that 662 different individuals have contributed to the Max sharing community over the past six years. Whether you’re a Max user or not, you’ll get a bunch of fresh audio ideas here: You can discover a huge variety of projects, browse the favorites of Cycling ‘74 employees, plus learn fun facts about the collection.

Just a tiny random sampling revealed thought-provoking experiments, interactive efforts, and new music tools. Check out Project #936 “Infinitely Sustained Glass Breaking with Max,” Project #874 “SoundWars,” and #703 “PolyJam Midi Tools” to start.

The Community gallery of the cycling74.com website grows daily and accepts all Max-related submissions. To get started with your own, check out Max Version 7, which was released in November 2014, and makes it easier than ever to get into the software with interactive lessons and a streamlined drag-and-drop interface.
