Creating “The Synth Sounds of Stranger Things” Video from Reverb.com

Netflix’s original series Stranger Things has gathered an almost cult-like following in the short amount of time it has been available for our viewing pleasure. Many elements come together to create the nostalgic tone the show carries and the soundtrack is no exception.

Composed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of S U R V I V E, the show’s tracks channel John Carpenter films and electronic music group Tangerine Dream to create out-of-this-worldly sounds.

In “The Synth Sounds of Stranger Things”, Reverb.com’s director of digital, Justin DeLay, guide’s us through their video dedicated to emulating some of Dixon and Stein’s most memorable themes using a Roland Juno-6, MiniMoog Model D and more.

To further help musicians find the unique sounds, Reverb.com released a free, exclusive Ableton Live pack designed by the Reverb SYNC team that captures the sound and vibe of the hit series.
