NYC Event: PMA Presents – Merging Recording Artists & Production Music, Monday 5/8

Time was when hit songs were destined for the radio. Now, they very well may be headed straight for sync, as clients from across the content creation spectrum ask for original songs that sound like they came straight off the Billboard charts.

That’s why the Production Music Association (PMA) is presenting “Merging Recording Artists and Production Music: Responding to Demand for Radio-Ready” on Monday, May 8th, from 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM (Check in/registration starts at 5:30pm, panel begins at 6:30pm.) The location is at Warner Music Group, 1633 Broadway, New York, NY.

MERGING RECORDING ARTISTS AND PRODUCTION MUSIC: RESPONDING TO DEMAND FOR RADIO-READY examines how the needs and opportunities for production music and commercial music are intersecting and colliding in the sync licensing world.

There’s an increasing demand from networks, shows, ad agencies and every imaginable client for radio-ready songs. We’ll gain access to the back rooms where the deals are evolving, where the publishers learn new ways to share and to the bars, recording studios and writer’s rooms where those who make the hits learn how to apportion some of their creativity and energy into new business arrangements to gain income from non-earning tracks previously destined to become trunk songs.
