Black Lion Audio introduces the “Seventeen” compressor.

Black Lion Audio’s forthcoming “Seventeen” compressor will include unique features such as a wet/dry mix knob, frequency-dependent sidechain, and stereo linking functionality.

Designed in conjunction with hitmaker Tobias Lindell, and featuring a redesigned and improved IC based front end, the Seventeen shows incredible detail and nuance normally not possible with this style compressor. The new front end circuit is coupled with a custom designed, made in Chicago output transformer, designed to give this unit a huge bottom end that balances out the open top end very nicely. Also included is Black Lion Audio’s proprietary Black Lion style power decoupling for an incredibly low noise floor. The Seventeen also uses high grade nichicon signal capacitors, widely considered some of the highest quality caps available.

In addition, the Seventeen features a frequency-adjustable sidechain, separate selectable high and low pass filters, a wet/dry mix knob, and a stereo link function for linking together two units.

The Seventeen will be available end of Q1/early Q2, 2018 for $649.

The MOM Monitor Operating Module by DAD (Digital Audio Denmark) is now shipping worldwide.

The Monitor Operating Module by Digital Audio Denmark offers a wide variety of controls, including the ability to save and recall various monitoring configurations.

The MOM unit was born for taking hands-on control of the monitoring side of any DAD AX32 or DX32R unit with the optional Pro | Mon | 3 monitor control license. With this new, third incarnation of Pro | Mon, DAD takes monitor control as an integrated part of its AX32 and DX32R units to a whole new level. And via the new desktop MOM Unit that offers layered control functionality, as well as easy operation directly from the work space, the control now gets tactile. The new Monitor Operating Module is also compatible with Avid’s MTRX units.

Multiple monitors and cue outputs in various channel formats can be configured and controlled from one or more hardware MOM’s. MOM features individual cue mix functionality and dedicated monitor mixing, and the adjustable parameters include level, pan, cut, mute and even downmix from, for example, a 7.1 multichannel format. HY-Plugins and BPB (Bedroom Producers Blog) release free HY-TP2 tremolo plugin.

Following the original HY-TP tremolo plugin, the HY-TP2 improves upon the original design in several ways, and HY-Plugins and Bedroom Producers Blog are now offering it for free.

HY-TP2 is an updated version of the HY-TP tremolo effect by HY-Plugins. The new version comes with an improved user interface and a modified feature set. HY-TP2 includes two additional LFO shapes while removing the envelope follower and soft clipper functionalities found in its predecessor. The LFO module now also features a phase shift knob for precise timing adjustments.

The Mod Wave section includes the LFO waveform selection panel (sine wave, triangle, ramp up, ramp down, log up, log down, square, and random), a phase adjustment knob, and a smoothing knob which smooths out the shape of the selected waveform. The Tremolo/Panner section features modulation rate, modulation depth, and modulation width knobs. The width knob affects the plugin’s behavior as a tremolo or a stereo auto-pan effect. The filter section features a pair of filters (low shelf and high shelf). Finally, the Output section features the output volume dial.

Check out a demo video of HY-TP2 here, and download HY-TP2 for free, courtesy of Bedroom Producers Blog, here.
