Music House Moves: Heavy Duty Projects Names Zach Pollakoff as Executive Producer

The bicoastal music company Heavy Duty Projects just got a little heavier.

The fast-growing music-for-picture powerhouse announced it has named Zach Pollakoff as Executive Producer of its New York office. His newly-created post marks an expansion of Heavy Duty’s NYC presence, where he will jointly lead creative and production teams handling original composition, music licensing and production for agencies and brands. Pollakoff will work closely with Heavy Duty’s New York-based EP and Partner, Kate Urcioli.

Zach Pollakoff is on board with Heavy Duty Projects in NYC.

Prior to joining Heavy Duty Projects, Pollakoff served as VP, Senior Music Producer at Grey Global/Townhouse Worldwide. While there, he contributed to Cannes and Emmy-winning campaigns for such advertisers as Gillette, DirecTV, NFL, Canon, Venus and more. He also helped to introduce the work of young indie artists to brands and negotiated the licensing of hit songs, while working on the creation of original compositions and covers with artists like Sia, St Vincent, Seal, Atticus Ross, Max Richter, Pusha T, Vince Staples, Son Lux and many more.

Heavy Duty Projects was co-founded by Partner and Managing Director Josh Kessler, and Grammy Award-winning producer Ariel Rechtshaid. The extensive pop-culture portfolio of its award-winning roster has contributed to a growing reel of ads, episodic television, feature films and video games. Brands that Heavy Duty was worked with include Target, Burt’s Bees, Orbit, Pantene, Jimmy Choo, Apple, Bacardi and Lexus.

In addition to original composition and licensing, Heavy Duty also handles music publishing and artist development and has deep roots in the contemporary music scene through the artists and labels that have collaborated with Rechtshaid. As a composer and musician, Rechtshaid has produced tracks for Adele, Troye Sivan, Vampire Weekend, and Usher and Haim, among others.
