Mondo.NYC Festival Arrives: Blockchain, Music Supervision and More — Oct. 2-5, Brooklyn

The global music conference Mondo.NYC is set to take off once again. Running from October 2-5 at the Williamsburg Hotel, this year’s Mondo seems set to deliver on the promise of its name, with a generous infusion of blockchain and music supervision events added to its core of music tech programming.

Mondo.NYC is bringing new blood for it’s October 2-5 conference.

The full schedule for Mondo.NYC can be seen here.

The conference is drawing thought leaders such as Blockparty CEO Shiv Madan and VP of Business Development Vladislav Ginzburg. These execs from the blockchain-based live events ticketing platform, along with other blockchain space leaders, will speak about the intersection of emerging music discovery and blockchain, cryptocurrency, and how emerging technologies and economies will significantly impact the business of music. Catch them in the panels “Obsolete – Integrating Emerging Tech Into Established Industries” on Wednesday, October 3rd, 11:00AM in the Ballroom, and during “Music Tech Day: Live & Digital” the same day at 3:00 PM in the Library.

Other blockchain/crypto highlights from Mondo include the primer “State of Blockchain & Emerging Technology” at Wednesday, 9:00 AM in the Ballroom, followed directly by “Decentralizing the Entertainment Industry,” “MusicTech Day: Cryptocurrency, Blockchain & Music,” and “Obsolete — Integrating Blockchain and Emerging Tech Into Established Industries.” At 1:00 PM Mondo presents “Side Hustle: Generating Resources with Emerging Tech & Blockchain.” Myriad other program entries throughout Mondo will help to get artists, producers, engineers and music business pros oriented to blockchain and crypto throughout the conference.

Another SonicScoop recommendation is for the program on Friday, October 5th, a special slate of panels put on in conjunction with the esteemed Guild of Music Supervisors to get attendees up to date on synch licensing.

The Guild has partnered with Mondo to put on a series of well-curated panels with top music supervisors for film, TV, and advertising. Following an 8:50 AM introduction by star music supervisors Jonathan McHugh and Ed Gerrard, the series includes “Documentary Films Are Booming!” at 9:00 AM, “Music Supervising TV in the Big City” at 10 AM, “Women In Music Supervision, Scoring and Advertising” at 11:00 AM, plus “Composers & Music Supervisors: How They Interact” at 12 Noon. The afternoon continues with a great slate. For a complete look at all the talks and elite panelists, visit here.

As always with Mondo, live music rules the night. Visit the schedule for dozens of music performances throughout Brooklyn.
