Antelope Audio announces Edge Go, the world’s first bus-powered modeling mic.

Running on bus power alone, Antelope’s new Edge Go models some of music’s most classic large diaphragm mics.

The Edge Go is a studio-grade, large diaphragm condenser USB microphone that provides producers, traveling musicians, podcasters, music vloggers, and tech reviewers with unprecedented access to Antelope Audio’s industry-leading microphone modeling technology. Plug the USB-equipped Edge Go directly into a Mac or PC, launch the included Edge Go software application, and simply start recording.

The Edge Go control panel software allows you to instantly audition and compare 11 emulations modeled on time-tested studio microphones. From fat-sounding tube mics (like the Tokyo 800T, Berlin 49T, Berlin 67, and Vienna 12) through to crisp FET condensers (like the Berlin 87, Berlin M103, Berlin 47 FT, and Vienna 414), simply select the mic in question, then dial in the pickup pattern needed. Conversely, you can choose to record through the Edge Go microphone with no mic emulation applied for a transparent, flat 20Hz-20kHz large diaphragm sound.

Check out a promo video of Edge Go here.

Edge Go is priced at $1,595.

iZotope announces new “Enhance” feature for Spire Studio.

iZotope implements powerful sonic enhancement features found in Ozone 8 and Neutron 2 into Spire Studio.

iZotope’s latest update for Spire Studio now offers the ability to polish your audio prior to sharing by utilizing the award-winning intelligent DSP that can also be found in iZotope products Ozone 8 and Neutron 2. This new feature does not rely on templates or presets, but instead analyzes the recorded audio and seeks out any loudness and/or tonal balance issues within the track and adjusts intelligently. For those familiar with Ozone 8 and Neutron 2, the DSP found within this feature borrows from Ozone’s Maximizer and Neutron’s Dynamic EQ.

The Enhance feature is a free update, only available to Spire Studio hardware users, and can be found in the latest version of the iOS or Android app.
