New Gear Alert: Bass Fingers by Waves, BOSS WL-Series Wireless Systems, Output’s PORTAL & More

Waves introduces the Bass Fingers plugin.

Waves offers unprecedented levels of human-like nuance in the sound of their newest virtual instrument, Bass Fingers.

Bass Fingers is the most detailed finger-style bass virtual instrument in existence. You can lay down authentic and realistic-sounding basslines with the personality of a seasoned bass player—intuitively on your keyboard.

Waves’ Bass Fingers translates your MIDI input into basslines full of character and personality, giving you the same mechanics, variations, and dynamics that a pro bass player creates naturally across the fretboard. Designed, recorded, and edited by highly regarded bass player Or Lubianiker (Marty Friedman, Gus G, Bumblefoot), Bass Fingers is an ultra-natural-sounding, high-performance virtual instrument with an extensive range of articulation and control over your sound—from open string sustain, natural legatos, release and decays, to realistic percussive playing, slides, mechanical noises, and other natural playing effects.

Featuring an extensive sample library that contains 14GB of hand-crafted bass samples, Bass Fingers gives you the most versatile and realistic finger-style bass vocabulary possible.

Bass Fingers is available now at a special introductory price of $49 (reg. $69).

BOSS unveils the WL-Series wireless systems.

Aimed at guitarists, bassists, and other electronic instruments, BOSS releases the innovative WL-Series wireless systems.

The WL-Series is a new line of high-quality wireless systems for guitar, bass, and other electronic instruments. Equipped with lightning-fast wireless technology newly developed by BOSS, the WL-Series delivers premium audio performance with ultra-low latency and rock-solid stability.

Ultra-compact and affordable, the WL-20 Wireless System is as simple to use as a standard guitar cable. A small transmitter plugs into the instrument, and a matching receiver plugs into a pedal or amp. The receiver includes cable tone simulation, which reproduces the natural capacitive effect of a 10-foot/3-meter guitar cable.

The WL-20L Wireless System is identical to the WL-20, but eliminates the cable tone simulation. This makes it a good choice for use with an acoustic/electric guitar with an onboard preamp, active pickups, or a line-level instrument.

With its stompbox-size footprint, the WL-50 Wireless System is ideally suited for pedalboards. It features an integrated transmitter dock, plus two cable tone simulation options. The receiver is powered via a PSA-series adapter or AA batteries. With adapter power, the receiver’s DC output can distribute power to one or more pedals.

The WL-T Wireless Transmitter can be purchased as a spare for use with a WL-20, WL-20L, or WL-50 system, or the Katana-Air wireless guitar amp.

PORTAL features 250+ presets for instant playability, a circular XY control linked to granular parameters, a powerful time manipulation engine, tempo-synced grain delay, scale-based pitch modulation, 7 built-in effects with an additional master compressor and filter, and much more.

Acustica releases the Honey3 plugin suite.

Acusica’s new Honey3 suite offers an attractive additional “ZL” (zero latency) version of each plugin, included standard with the bundle.

Honey3 packs all the power and musicality of a world-class American console, highly regarded by many industry professionals for its musicality and logical layout.

Honey3 includes 4 separate plugins: a home-brew version of a famous EQ (Classic), a faithful “Vintage” version of the same unit, a VCA compressor, and a Channel Strip that includes select modules chosen by the Acustica team.

Each plugin included in the Honey3 suite comes in a “Standard” version and an alternative “ZL” version, which operates at zero latency and is thus suitable for use when tracking, at the cost of extra processing resources.

Honey3 is available now, priced at €89.

Danley announces the Go2-6CX loudspeaker.

Don’t be fooled by the size of Danley’s Go2-6CX loudspeaker—these compact loudspeakers pack a big punch.

The Go2-6CX uses a 6″ co-axial driver fit snugly into an extremely compact Baltic birch cabinet. Despite its small size, the Go2-6CX is capable of delivering 109dB continuous and 115dB peak, with Danley’s characteristic phase coherence and smooth frequency response (95Hz to 23kHz, +/- 6dB).

The Danley Go2-6CX joins its larger sibling, the Go2-8CX, as the second member of the Go2 Series. This new member of the team bridges the gap between the Go2-8CX and the popular Danley Nano. The Go2 line will be useful in situations where both small size and crystal-clear sound reproduction are paramount.
