Focusrite launches the Scarlett 3rd Generation Range.

Focusrite’s 3rd Generation Scarlett line is the most powerful yet, offering the best-sounding preamps the line has ever seen, and more.

Featuring six configurations of ins and outs with updated Scarlett mic preamps, along with the inclusion of “Air”, high headroom instrument inputs, and high-performance converters, Scarlett is enabling millions of musicians, songwriters, and producers to record, mix, and play back audio in studio quality everywhere, all the time.

The 3rd Gen. mic pre is the best Scarlett has ever experienced. The 24-bit/192kHz converters give your recordings clarity, while Air mode breathes life into vocals, adding unique high-end detail. PreSonus’ new Eris E5 & E8 XT monitors boast a larger sweet spot, and improved high and low end extension.

PreSonus’ new Eris E5 XT and Eris E8 XT active studio monitors feature an all-new elliptical waveguide design that provides a wider sweet spot and more focused vertical dispersion, making them a perfect fit for any nearfield mix environment. Larger enclosures afford an extended low-frequency response that complements the new high-frequency design.

The new custom elliptical waveguide design provides superior high-frequency response with a broad 100° horizontal dispersion to expand the sweet spot. The tightly focused 60° vertical dispersion minimizes early reflections, helping to eliminate one of the most common sources of environmental interference, creating a more consistent response both on- and off-axis. The result is greater detail and depths that reveal subtle transients, delicate reverb trails, and a consistent listening experience in any mix environment. In addition, the XT models’ ported enclosure is larger than that of the original E5 and E8, allowing them to reproduce significantly lower frequencies.

The Eris XT monitors provide balanced XLR, balanced 1/4-inch, and unbalanced RCA line-level inputs, so you can hook them up to an audio interface, analog or digital mixer, monitor controller, or almost any other line-level source.

The Eris XT monitors are available now, priced at $149.95/ea for the Eris E5 XT and $249.95/ea for the Eris E8 XT.

SpectraLayers Pro 6 now available via Steinberg.

The full retail version of SpectraLayers Pro 6 is priced at $399.99, together with various downloadable updates from previous versions.

Electro-Harmonix releases the Tri Parallel Mixer pedal.

EHX’s Tri Parallel Mixer enables you to creatively blend and manipulate multiple effects loops signals, independently.

EHX’s Tri Parallel Mixer is a powerful effects creation and mixing hub featuring three independent, parallel effects loops that can be used to mix effects in a way not possible when connecting effects in series. Layer synth sounds with distorted guitar and clean psychedelic modulation, or blend 3 different drive tones for a faux multi-tracked wall of sound.

The unit can also be used as a switcher in XOR mode where only one loop can be on at a time—great for creating drastic tonal shifts and managing tones. You can also use each loop’s ins or outs to split one instrument into three amps, or mix three instruments down to one output.

Check out an introductory video to the Tri Parallel Mixer here.
