Eventide unleashes the Blackhole reverb pedal.

Eventide ports their popular Blackhole algorithm into stompbox format.

A historic element of Eventide’s sound, the Blackhole algorithm was introduced in Eventide’s DSP4000 Ultra-Harmonizer hardware processor, and now opens a host of possibilities on a pedalboard.

Blackhole can load as many as 127 presets via MIDI, which are also accessible in the preset list on the Eventide Device Manager—a PC or Mac application for software updates, system settings and creating/saving presets. 5 presets can be loaded at your feet for access from a latching/momentary dual-action active footswitch.

The rear-panel guitar/line level switch allows impedance matching with guitars, synths, FX loops, or DAW interfaces. A single aux switch can be deployed to tap tempo, or a triple aux switch can be used for easy preset changing (up/down/load).

Check out an introductory video of the Blackhole reverb pedal here.

Blackhole is available worldwide, priced at $279.

D.W. Fearn announces updates to their flagship preamplifiers and processors.

Now boasting new fanless operation and more, D.W. Fearn upgrades their VT-2, VT-5, and VT-7 outboard units.

The newly updated VT-2 now features an integrated, switchable 43dB pad, enabling it to be
patched into the master buss during mixdown and mastering. This replaces the need for the LP-1 line pad, which was a separate box previously available from D.W. Fearn. The new design now makes the VT-2 a veritable triple threat, equally at home in recording, mixing, and mastering scenarios.

The VT-5 Dual Channel Vacuum Tube Equalizer and the VT-7 Dual Channel Vacuum Tube Microphone Compressor have also been upgraded. Like all D.W. Fearn products, both units incorporate a Class-A vacuum tube audio path, and are hand-crafted in the U.S. using only the finest components available. Now, both products have been optimized to eliminate the need for an internal fan. While the fans in D.W. Fearn equipment have always been extraordinarily quiet, research has shown that no fan is even quieter.

The new VT-2, VT-5, and VT-7 are available now from D.W. Fearn | Hazelrigg Industries, at an MSRP of $5,500, $10,200, and $8,200, respectively.
