New Gear Alert: Black Lion Power Solutions, JST Toneforge Jeff Loomis, EarthMoments’ Handmade Instrument Samples & More

Black Lion Audio announces the PG-XLM and PG-X power conditioners.

Black Lion Audio debuts two powerful new solutions for power with the PG-XLM and PG-X.

The Black Lion Audio PG-XLM and PG-X deliver best-in-class quality, thanks to PG-90 Filtering Technology. In testing, this has provided an average of 90% of noise filtering, as opposed to the typical average of 76% found in other power conditioners at the same price point.

The PG-XLM features a bank of eight switched, filtered, and surge protected outlets on the back panel. On the front panel, the PG-XLM sports one switched convenience outlet, a real-time voltage meter, and 2 pull-out lamps.

The PG-X features a bank of eight switched, filtered, and surge protected outlets on the back panel. Both units feature a front-access USB port for device charging.

The PG-XLM and PG-X are available now, priced at $199 and $119, respectively.

JST unleashes the next entry in their popular Toneforge series, this time in collaboration with renowned metal guitarist Jeff Loomis.

Jeff Loomis, guitarist of melodic death metal band Arch Enemy (formerly of progressive metal band Nevermore & supergroup Conquering Dystopia) has introduced a brand new signature plugin created in partnership with Joey Sturgis Tones and Swedish metal producer Jens Bogren (Arch Enemy, Sepultura, Devin Townsend, & At The Gates).

The introduction of Toneforge Jeff Loomis brings a series of new tonal options to the market for those in the death metal and progressive genres. With three distinct channels (Clean, Rhythm, and Lead), guitarists are able to dial in tones for specific scenarios. The Clean channel touts a Clarity knob design to eliminate any breakup even as the Gain is increased, while the Lead channel has a Shred knob which pushes the amp even harder into the red. On the middle Rhythm channel, you will find one of the plugin’s most unique features: a switch enabling guitarists to switch between the sound of 6L6 and EL34 tubes that is driven by pushing the master volume.

Check out an introductory video to Toneforge Jeff Loomis here.

Toneforge Jeff Loomis is priced at $59 for a limited time only (reg. $149).

NTP Technology ships the Penta 721s audio routers and converters.

Bridge multiple audio formats with ease and speed, thanks to NTP Technology’s Penta 721s series.

The new Penta 721s models bridge a wide range of audio formats and systems seamlessly. Each of these new models are compact 1RU solutions that all include AES, MADI, and Dante I/O, yet each model is made with specific purposes in mind.

The Penta 721s-DNT is a Dante to Dante converter with onboard sample rate conversion on the input, which makes it ideal for connecting individual IP Audio networks that may run on different sample rates and digital clocks.

The Penta 721s-SDI adds Dual 3G SDI embedding/de-embedding to the package and is ideal for broadcasters with the need for combining SDI signals with Dante, MADI, or AES. The SDI side of the model also has built-in sample rate conversion.

Finally, the Penta 721s is the modular solution that comes with an empty expansion card slot where any of seven available expansion cards can be installed; for instance, analog inputs or outputs, delay processing for lip-sync, 3G SDI, or additional AES, MADI, or Dante connectivity.

The Penta 721s, Penta 721s DNT, and Penta 721s-SDI will be available in Q1 2121, priced at $2,799, $4,320, and $4,680, respectively.
