The Cocoon incorporates a true electrostatic Golden Drop transducer within its space age capsule architecture. The thin, ultralight membrane is fabricated with pure 999 gold; this innovative technology allows the diaphragm to move with laser sharp precision for increased intelligibility while simultaneously reducing any coloration or distortion.

The Martian sounds as warm and friendly as it looks. Enclosed inside the rotating head is a space age shock mounted capsule with an electrostatic Golden Drop transducer, also made of pure 999 gold.

The Cocoon and Martian will begin shipping in Q2 2021, priced at $499 and $699, respectively.

Black Rooster Audio unleashes the RO-140 plate reverb plugin.

Harness the power of true plate reverb straight from your DAW via Black Rooster Audio’s RO-140.

The RO-140 was faithfully modelled after its legendary hardware counterparts, while still remaining a Black Rooster Audio original plugin at its core. Its plate simulation approach allows you to authentically capture an analog unit’s sound and feel as closely as possible while still including some unexpected twists.

Achieving the perfect amount and type of reverb for your tracks can make—or break—your mix. Producers now have the ability to mimic any space in their mixes by using this effect, tricking the ear and simulating everything from grandiose width to cosy intimacy. Today’s music production uses reverb processors extensively and with ease, but it hasn’t always been this way.

The RO-140 is available now, priced at $69.

Introducing the Recording Setup App.

A studio assistant like never before, meet the Recording Setup App.

The Recording Setup App is a cross-platform application aimed at audio engineers that helps in the planning, setup, and archiving of recording sessions.

The Recording Setup App is designed to replace the pen and paper method of the preproduction stage, and instead allow you to virtually drag and drop images of microphones over instruments, automatically creating a table for each instrument with its respective microphones. The tables and microphone placements, along with accompanying notes and the list of microphones, can then be exported and used as a reference to set up the recording session.

The application also provides a consistent archiving system across all the recording sessions with a well-organized folder that contains all the exported files which can later be accessed for referential purposes.

The Recording Setup App is available in two editions: the Full Edition is a one-time purchase that includes all the future app updates and new features, priced at $49.99; the Lite Edition is a free, fully functional version with limited functionality, including four microphones to get up and running right away.
