iZotope Acquires Product Line from Reverb Developer Exponential Audio

A reverb leader has just become part of a bigger family.

iZotope, Inc. has announced the acquisition of the product line of Exponential Audio, a leading company in digital reverb. Renowned for plugins such as the R4, PhoenixVerb Surround and Symphony, Exponential Audio solutions are widely used in both music and audio post production.

iZotope is the new home for Exponential Audio.

Exponential Audio reverb plugins have proven to be a go-to tool for audio engineers working with musical performances, fitting dialogue into scenes, mixing in immersive audio formats, and creating unique sound effects. Developed in consultation with award-winning Hollywood re-recording mixers, Exponential Audio reverbs support the most advanced industry formats for surround audio.

In addition, Exponential Audio founder and renowned reverb expert Michael Carnes has joined iZotope as a Research Fellow to continue innovating new possibilities for sound. A long-time software developer and musician, prior to starting Exponential Audio Carnes was the creator of Lexicon’s 960L, the PMC96, and the Lexicon plugins. Beyond hardware and software development, Carnes holds an advanced degree in classical composition, adding musicality and creativity to the plug-ins he develops.

As an iZotope company, Exponential Audio’s products will now be sold through iZotope.com. Current and future users of Exponential Audio products will become part of the iZotope community and will be supported by iZotope’s Customer Care team.
