JBL Launches 7 Series — Next Gen Monitoring System for Post and Broadcast Control Rooms

At IBC 2015, HARMAN JBL Professional (yes, that is the full legal name) has announced a new modular referencing monitor system. The take from this system is that it can be scaled to any size room, and excels in the dialog range.

First up in JBL’s new 7 Series is the modular LSR708i and LSR705i monitors.

The new 7 Series will include a range of referencing monitors, but the first two introduced to us are the LSR705i (5-inch) and the LSR708i (8-inch). Each include JBL’s newly designed woofers for output down to 30Hz, and their Image Control Waveguide for increased spatial imaging.

The monitors include tech built for management options, including HARMAN’s Crown DCi 8|300N eight and four-channel power amplifiers to be driven by single amp channel, or bi-amplified. The 705i and 708i also include a chip by HARMAN that can allow for universal bass management, and a range of I/O options.

The JBL LSR708i is available now for $1,500 MSRP, and the LSR705i for $687.50 MSRP. Here are more details from JBL:
