NYC’s Nutmeg Post Expands, Adding Video and Audio Post Production Facilities
Nutmeg Post — formerly known as Nutmeg Audio Post — has expanded its NYC facilities to include six new video editing suites, graphics and two more audio suites.
The expansion, which involves Nutmeg taking over an additional floor at their current 45 W. 45th Street address, will reportedly accommodate the growing business and shifting operational procedures required by clients.
Each new edit room is outfitted with the latest Avid Symphony Nitris DX Version 5, Final Cut Studio and a full suite of plug-ins, as well as access to the facility’s SoundMiner music and sound effects library.
The edit rooms are linked by an EditShare media storage system, which allows clients’ projects to be edited and shared in multiple rooms simultaneously. With the new facilities and additional “advanced high definition capabilities,” Nutmeg now offers a one-stop-shop scenario with seamless workflow throughout.
Nutmeg’s new rooms were built under the supervision of DC-2 Design Consortium & Gayle Searle Designs. These are “larger than average” sized edit rooms with sprawling seating and six-foot windows. Renovations also included the addition of a new cafe and lounge for further client comfort.
2010 is also Nutmeg’s 30th year in business and the expansion to add full-blown video capabilities a very significant move. See our recent coverage of an NYC’s Mega Playground adding audio — for more on the trend towards one-stop-shop post facilities.
