Rupert Neve Designs Announces RNDI DI Box and R6 500 Rack for NAMM 2015

As NAMM 2015 approaches, audio companies are gearing up to show off new tech, including a few firsts.

Among these is the RNDI from Rupert Neve Designs. The new DI from RND is designed with a class-A based FET amplifier, providing high headroom, and allowing a variety of inputs levels, including 1000-watt amps.

RND will also be demoing their new R6 – Six-space 500 series rack. The R6 is juiced up with more than double the required current of typical 6-space chassis for unexpected power loads. The rack is also equipped with 8 Channels of Balanced I/O that include DB-25, XLR, and TRS.

Huge Headroom
The high input headroom of +21.5dBU is capable of handling professional, line level sources without a pad – and in speaker mode, the RNDI can handle the full output of a 1000-watt power amplifier (92 Vrms or 266Vp-p).

Rugged Solid-Steel Frame
The rugged steel chassis features an industrial-grade powder coating, and is built to withstand the severe stresses of life on the road

Takes All Kinds
The RNDI has immensely consistent performance across a wide variety of sources due to its 2M Ohm discrete FET input and high headroom. You can confidently use the RNDI with basses, guitars, acoustic instruments, keyboards, and even professional line level devices. In instrument mode, you can even connect a professional line level interface output to “Re-Preamp” a previously recorded source

Drive Longer Lines
The low impedance transformer coupled output – below 50 ohms – is capable of driving long lines with unrivaled high frequency performance

R6
Six Space 500 Series Rack

Massive Connectivity
Interchangeable XLR, TRS, and DB-25 I/O connections are provided to ensure that you can connect wherever you go with the backpanel patchbay

Serious Power
Even with modules that overdraw the 500 series specification, the R6 has the reserve power to maintain the voltage

Power Monitoring
An LED Meter monitors the R6 current usage to ensure that you never run short on power. This meter can also be useful for troubleshooting a module that is severely overdrawing its allotment

Channel 7-8 Thru Conversion
The channel 7-8 thru connections can be used as a way to quickly and easily convert your signal from/to DB-25, XLR, and TRS connectors

48V Phantom Supply
Provide rock-solid phantom power to your microphones with the R6’s robust 48V buss
