IK Multimedia Releases T-RackS Saturator X – Analog Saturation for Digital Recordings

IK Multimedia has announced a neat tool for users that want to introduce a different characteristic to their recordings – The T-RackS Saturator X.

Though saturation is equivocal in application, IK Multimedia is marketing the Saturator X as a tool to add ‘analog magic’ to digital recordings, imparting the color, flavor and saturation effects of classic analog audio processing gear to digital recordings.

Minimal interface, yet so many possibilities.

10 Saturation Modes
Users will still be able to use the plug-in for a variety of applications despite the intended application. These 10 modes include:

2 “tape” modes
2 “master soft saturation” modes
2 “tube” modes
2 “solid state” modes
2 “transformer” modes

Additional Features:

Magic Eye Metering
Saturator X also features a “Magic Eye” VU meter that quickly gives users a vintage-looking, visual indication of the amount of saturation being applied to the incoming signal.

Brickwall Limiter
T-RackS Saturator X also has a built-in Brickwall Limiter feature. When engaged, the Brickwall Limiter ensures that the saturation level never overdrives the signal to the point of harsh digital distortion that can ruin a recording.
