8Th Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards Winners Announced
Outstanding music to picture is powered by a dedicated group of professionals that specialize in synch licensing: music supervisors. They got their due on Thursday, February 8th, when the Guild of Music Supervisors unveiled the winners of their 8th Annual Awards, at a star-studded ceremony at the ACE Hotel in Downtown LA.

The Guild RECOGNIZED at the 8th Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards, held February 8th in Los Angeles.
Many of the featured awards were well-deserved, and two just happened to be picked up a husband/wife team. Season Kent got the win as “Best Music Supervisor” for the intense and music-packed Netflix drama “13 Reasons Why.” Kent must have had some positive crosstalk with her husband Kier Lehman, who was victorious in the category “Best Music Supervision In a Television Comedy or Musical” for the outstanding HBO series “Insecure (Season 2)”.
The work on the music-heavy HBO docuseries The Defiant Ones was also recognized. The accomplished sample clearance architect Deborah Mannis-Gardner, of DMG Clearances, Inc., won in the “Best Music Supervision in a Docuseries or Reality Television” category. The Defiant Ones examined the careers of music business legends Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre.
