Ric Schnupp Productions Mixes for Miss Selia, Hanne Sorvaag, Michael Castaldo
NYC-based Ric Schnupp Productions has reported a busy spring for his practice, which offers engineering, mixing, custom music, post production, and Pro Tools engineering services.
On the engineering/mixing side, Schnupp worked on three releases for daWorks Records, based out of Oslo, Norway. The tracks are:
Miss Selia – Boss Like Me (mixed and mastered)
Hanne Sørvaag – Bring Me Down [Single] (mixed)
Schnupp also mixed a second track for Hanne that appears on her new CD, “Cover Me,” which was just released on June 3rd, 2011.
In addition, Schnupp performed engineering/mixing on Micheal Castaldo’s new CD (untitled) to be released 11/22/2011. “The CD will feature songs in Italian and has the Classical-Crossover vibe to it,” Schnupp explains. “Programming is done by Stein B. Svendsen and Isaac Raz, Strings Garry Ianco, backing vocals by Isaac Raz and Michelle Lewis plus other guest studio musicians TBA. We hope to be completed by mid-July 2011, with marketing and promotion to begin in August to select media, followed by full-blown promotion for Q4.”
This Spring, Schnupp also engineered, produced and mixed two albums for vocalist/pianist/composer Napua Davoy. High Standards is an album of classic jazz standards, and Stella Rising is a one-woman musical chronicling her changing relationship with her mother as she develops Alzheimer’s.
In addition, Schnupp mixed a new single for progressive house DJ Brian Michael, slated for a summer release.
On the custom music front, Schnupp and partner/composer/arranger Darien Scott Shulman collaborated on producing, arranging, and mixing an untitled jazz/big band album for vocalist Dwayna Litz.
Shulman is also doing custom music for Pioneer Road Production Company, the upcoming feature film The Banshee of Bainbridge (Dir. Jim Tierney), and the upcoming short films Suture (Dir: Howie Schilsky), Sick Day (Dir. Matthew Kotowski), and Last Words (Dir. Tony Yacenda), starring Mark Pellegrino (LOST, Dexter, Big Lebowski), and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), with Schnupp mixing and engineering.
For post, Schnupp did sound design, ADR, full sound editorial, and mixing for a 90 minute indie feature, called Art = (Love)², directed by Mumtaz Hussain. The film was edited by Chris Holms (The Patriot, Tears of the Sun, Bugsy), and the music is being composed by Joe Delia (Bad Lieutenant, Body Snatchers, The Funeral). A late summer release is planned.
Schnupp also handled the full sound package for the aforementioned 8-minute short film Suture, directed by Howie Schilsky.
Lastly, for Pro Tools engineering, Schnupp teched the Pro Tools system, provided by Jim Flynn Rentals, on the Today Show for Celtic Woman’s performance on St. Patrick’s Day (check him out Stage Left in this snazzy video).
