Avid Announces Pro Tools + Eleven Rack
Avid has a new software/hardware bundle designed especially for guitarists – the Pro Tools + Eleven Rack.
This new product packages Pro Tools 9 software with a DSP-accelerated audio interface and the “Eleven Rack Expansion Pack” of classic amp emulations – inspired by Fender, Vox, Marshall, Soldano, Mesa/Boogie, Ampeg, more – and stompbox effects inspired by MXR, Electro-Harmonix, Ibanez, Pro Co, Univox, and more.
The Eleven Rack audio interface has a built-in guitar tuner, and onboard DSP acceleration providing dedicated plug-in processing power for using the system as a standalone amp/effects processor, and beefing up your DAW to handle more complex, higher-track-count mixes.
For recording, the unit features:
- One XLR mic input with 48V phantom power
- Two 1/4″ line-level inputs
- Balanced stereo XLR outputs and dedicated 1/4″ outputs (for amp connection)
- Two 1/4″ FX sends and returns
- AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital I/O
- 1×1 MIDI I/O
- Stereo 1/4″ headphone jack
- Pedal/footswitch input
With its own standalone amp tone and effects processor, the Eleven Rack can also function like an amp head that can be connected to a speaker cabinet or direct to the soundboard, providing access to the variety of vintage amp and stompbox emulations, and effects processing, live .
