What could you do with a day at SweetSounds Studios?
We refer to the #ivegotsweetsounds contest that’s just been launched by SweetSounds, the highly vibey new two-room studio that’s coming on strong in SoHo.
SweetSounds’ expansion to a bigger 1,500 sq. ft. space has impressed us from the start, via its retro-cool aesthetic, Rupert Neve Designs 5088 Console, live room with natural light plus inspiring downtown views, and extra-sharp staff.

SweetSounds’ newly expanded facility in historic SoHo combines the world of digital and analog recording with the new addition of the Crosby studio which features a Rupert Neve Console, vintage outboard gear, versatile mic selection, an acoustic piano, drums and selection of guitars and vintage amps.
This summer, SweetSounds will launch a contest for emerging bands which gives them a chance to win a free day in the premier Crosby studio.
“This summer marks the one year since our grand opening of our current 594 Broadway location and we wanted to kick off the season with this contest that will give emerging musicians the chance to record with our new Neve board…” says Dinesh Boaz, owner of SweetSounds Studios.
Working with engineer, producer, and mixer Jason Finkel, the contest winner will get to experience a real studio session and have the chance to record with the Neve along with an array of vintage and modern gear.
“The opening of the new space and our Rupert Neve Designs 5088 has created a lot of buzz around town. Even though it’s a new room, a lot of outside engineers that come in and see the space are really excited about the studio…” explains Boaz “…we wanted to figure out a way to give back to the musicians and let rising artists experience everything the Neve offers for recording vocals and instruments.”
To quality for the contest, bands will submit one original composition in the format of their choosing (MP3, YouTube, SoundCloud, etc.) to SweetSounds via email (contest@sweetsoundsnyc.com) before the deadline of June 30, 2013. All the songs entered will be posted on the SweetSounds Website/Facebook page and give fans the chance to be able to vote for their favorite band. The top three finalists will then be reviewed by engineer, Jason Finkel who will then choose the final winner of the #ivegotsweetsounds contest!
