Focusrite Announces Red 4Pre Audio Interface

Claiming to be their “best interface yet”, Focusrite has announced the single rack unit Red 4Pre.

Utilizing Dante, and dual DigiLink ports, Red 4Pre can be connected directly to any Pro Tools | HD system with the capability of 58-in/64-out via Ethernet – provided there is an Ethernet connection nearby.

Focusrite’s upgraded AD/DA converters utilize a ‘parallel path’ dual conversion that can rout high-resolution audio, high dB value of dynamic range, low conversion latency, and low THD+Noise.

Red 4Pre also features four of Focusrite’s ‘Red Evolution’ mic pres – software controlled pres featuring recall, 63dB of gain, individual phantom power, HPF configuration, and polarity inversion. The microphone pres also feature Focusrite’s ‘Air’ effect, optionally producing the character of transformer-based mic pres in their ISA preamp range.
