Focusrite Introduces 2nd Generation of Scarlett Interfaces

Six interfaces make up the Scarlett range offered by Focusrite. Varying in I/O options, the interfaces can suite most any recording application.

While the I/O options remain the same, upgrades have been done to the exterior, and internal components as well. Changes to the exterior include metal gain controls, and more sleek red metal chassis contributing to an improved aesthetic over the original.

Internal upgrades include more gain structure, redesigned instrument inputs for increased headroom, analog protection circuitry for unexpected power surges, and increased operating sample rates up to 192kHz.

Second generation packages will also ship with a suite of creative audio software and plug-ins including the newly added Pro Tools | First. The free version of Pro Tools comes with just enough to receive initial impressions of the DAW with 12 plug-in offerings.

Focusriteā€™s 2nd Generation Scarlett interfaces are available today, with Scarlett 6i6, 18i8 and 18i20 following later in June. Click here for more complete details from Focusrite.
