New Gear Alert: Arturia MiniFilter V, Neo-Soul Samples & More
Arturia have released a dedicated plug-in of the filter found in their Mini V software synth: MiniFilter V.
The filter itself is based on the Monosynth developed by Dr. Bob Moog in the 1970s, and has been painstakingly reproduced to be as faithful and accurate to the original as possible.
Using their exclusive TAE technology, Arturia developers are able to replicate the behaviors and subtle nuances of analog components, and it is this technology that brings the 24dB/octave filter emulation to life, bearing an uncanny resemblance to the original.
You can demo MiniFilter V for free, and purchase it for $49.
Spitfire Audio announces Symphonic Woodwinds for Native Instruments’ Kontakt 5 Player Platform.
The extensive sample library was recorded at Lyndhurst Hall within London’s legendary Air Studios, committing the performances to two-inch Studer tape using an array of vintage valve and ribbon microphones via Neve ‘AIR Montserrat’ preamps and a Neve 88R large-scale console before being digitally stored at 96k.
Symphonic Woodwinds features deep sampling of some lesser-explored areas of the wood choir, including (but not limited to) alto flute, bass flute, contrabass clarinet, bass clarinet, bass flute, bassoon solo, clarinet solo, flute solo, oboe solo, and piccolo flute. All samples feature multiple dynamics, vibrato control, numerous round robins, and a variety of traditional and more esoteric articulations.
Spitfire Audio is offering Symphonic Woodwinds for $434.00 standalone, but buyers can enjoy up to a 35% discount if purchased in a collection.
Ueberschall announces Neo Soul, a 3.5 GB collection of soul and jazz loops and samples.
Neo Soul delivers the smooth, down-tempo grooves that cross over between soul and R&B but adds a contemporary feel with some subtle electronic elements.
Each kit contains three distinct musical parts as well as a collection of single sounds for additional flexibility and customization. Pre-mixed stereo drum loops are included alongside individual loops for kick, snare, hats, ride and other kit elements. Synth bass, acoustic bass, electric bass, various synths, pads, organs, processed guitars, electric pianos, Rhodes piano, sound effects and vinyl sounds are included amongst the instruments used.
The structure of the internal browser and additional tagging with key and tempo make Ueberschall’s Elastik Player the ideal software for loop based libraries like Neo Soul.
A full download of Neo Soul is available for €99.00.
