Tracktion unveils Waveform 9 music production software.

Tracktion offers a wealth of new features and tons of added content in the ninth iteration of their popular DAW, Waveform.

Tracktion Corporation is proud to announce the ninth generation of their award winning DAW, Waveform. Included in this major new release is a compelling range of new features, add-ons and additional content to improve workflow and inspire creativity.

Among the exciting range of new features, Waveform now offers an unprecedented library of exclusive 24 track drum loop construction kits, recorded using the finest gear available. You can combine this with the new Multi Sampler “one button” import/slice tool to surgically dissect the beats and re-arrange them to produce alternative and unorthodox ideas.

The expanded capabilities of the popular MIDI pattern generator include a global chord track, a custom plugin faceplate designer, macro parameters, and track loops and presets. In addition, the new modifiers and the major enhancements to the fully modular “rack” environment gives further opportunities to experiment and try fresh, new ideas.

Waveform 9 is available in three tiers: Waveform Basic for $109 (upgrade $59), Waveform+ Pack for $159 (upgrade $109), and Waveform Ultimate Pack for $259 (upgrade $189).

Roland announces the TR-8S Rhythm Performer.

With one foot in the past and one in the present, the TR-8S offers modern functionality with access to Roland’s most iconic drum sounds of decades past.

The TR-8S Rhythm Performer is an innovative new instrument that fuses Roland’s renowned rhythm machine legacy with modern sound design features tuned for live performance.

The TR-8S is filled with the most iconic TR drum sounds of all time, plus an extensive selection of samples from Roland’s vast library. The instrument also supports both mono and stereo user samples, and comes packed with hands-on controls and production tools that make patterns move and groove. Dynamic and inspiring, the TR-8S takes the concept of a rhythm machine to a new level of creative power.

The TR-8S sequencer is able to store 128 patterns, with eight variations and three fills contained in each. These patterns or variations can be triggered individually or chained together for evolving sequences. It’s also now possible to save the tempo and kit assignment (along with knob positions and FX settings) in patterns.

The TR-8S will be released shortly, priced at $699.

Eventide announces availability of the H9 Control Android App for H9 Harmonizer.

Managing settings and creating sounds for Eventide’s H9 Harmonizer family has never been easier, thanks to the H9 Control App for Android.

The H9 Control App provides you with the ability to manage parameters, presets, and settings for Eventide’s H9 Harmonizer Effects Processor stompbox family.

Eventide’s H9 Harmonizer is a powerful effects pedal perfect for live usage (on stage and FOH), as well as in the studio. Suitably paired with an appropriate Android tablet or phone, the new H9 Control App offers a wealth of useful features. These include (but are not limited to): the ability to manage and create unique sounds with the editor librarian, create hundreds of effects on the app and easily transfer them to the H9 Harmonizer, audition and purchase new effect algorithms via the built-in store, and much more.

Steinberg & Softube offer deeper tactile control with free Console 1 update.

Experience even deeper tactile integration with Cubase and other DAWs, courtesy of Steinberg and Softube’s software update for Console 1.

Console 1 brings a tangible, analog workflow to mixing music on a computer, and saves time where working with mouses, trackpads, and keyboards can be frustrating and clunky. And combined with the painstakingly component-modeled console emulations Softube offers in the accompanying software, it not only feels like the real thing, but sounds like it too.

Console 1 works with all major DAWs, but with Cubase there are now extra layers of integration, further refining your workflow. It is now possible to control track selection in Cubase, along with solo/mute, volume, pan, send levels and more, directly by hand from the Console 1 hardware.

The new integration is a free upgrade with Cubase Pro 9.5.10 and the latest version of the Console 1 software.
