New Gear Alert: Novation’s Summit Synth, Mellotron V from Arturia, Suhr Cabinet IRs by Celestion & More
Introducing Summit: the new flagship synth by Novation.
Summit is Novation’s new flagship synthesizer for studio and stage. Built on the same innovative foundations as the critically acclaimed Peak, Summit’s deep sound design capabilities, 16-voice two-part multitimbral engine, and intuitive, tactile workflow add up to a synth that’s far more than the sum of its parts.
With its multitimbral architecture and 16 voices of polyphony, Summit is like two Peaks in one instrument, enabling two completely independent patches to be split or layered across the keyboard, or switched between on the fly. Featuring dual filters, greatly extended front panel controls, audio input, and the same premium quality five-octave keyboard introduced with Novation’s SL MkIII MIDI controller, Summit is in a creative league of its own.
Summit boasts a wealth of modulation sources and assignment options, three effects, audio input for routing external sources into those effects (while still using the other multitimbral part as a synth), and an auxiliary output. And the front panel expands greatly on Peak’s layout with the addition of dedicated controls for FM, all LFOs, effects and more.

Arturia releases the Mellotron V.
The original Mellotron was a marvel of engineering: a playable network of magnetic tapes that let you perform using otherworldly recordings of choirs, acoustic, and classical instruments.
Mellotron V isn’t just a copycat, it’s a love letter to the original with some exclusive features that make it a must-have for the modern producer. All of the original tapes have been included, sampled at the source, and replayed using authentic tape emulation. Not only that, but musicians can now fine-tune the sound of the instrument like never before with mechanical, noise, and tape controls, an ADSR envelope, and awesome effects.
One of the most exciting new features is the ability to load your own samples and perform them using the saturated tape sound of the original machine, complete with wow and flutter you can dial in to taste.
Mellotron V will be available for a special introductory price of $99/€99 until June 10th (reg. $199/€199).

Audient introduces the Nero desktop monitor controller.
Designed to be at the core of the desktop studio, Nero offers a comprehensive range of I/O, console-style monitor control, an assignable sub output, Precision Matched Attenuation Technology, and more.
Four stereo analog inputs (including two line level inputs), a dedicated cue mix input, one aux input (RCA or mini jack), and both optical and coaxial S/PDIF inputs give you a wide variety of connectivity options. These can be fed to three stereo speaker outputs (with the ability to set and match volumes), one assignable sub output, and four headphone outputs.

Nero is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2019 and will retail for $499.
Rocktron introduces the VooDu Valve LTD preamp.
The VooDu Valve LTD is a digital/tube preamp that has been utilized by some of the world’s best players, both live and in the studio. Successfully combining a digital world with tube warmth is something Rocktron takes great pride in, and the VooDu unites Rocktron’s world-renowned DSP effects with the warmth of tube technology.
This preamp is unique in the way that you can choose either high or low tube gain selections dependent on how much tube break-up you want for any application. For an ultra-clean tone with a sharp edge and minimal distortion, select “low” tube gain presets. For a tinge of dirt, dial up “high” tube gain selections and run minimal digital distortion to get natural medium-saturated tones reminiscent of a maxed-out half stack. And for the “gain-heads”, run “high” tube gain with digital clipping.
The Preamp section controls include Variac, Pentode, Triode, and Solid State voicings. The VooDu’s post EQ section and comprehensive pre EQ section ensures you never run out of tone shaping ideas.
VooDu Valve LTD is priced at $749.
