New Gear Alert: Classic 5 Monitors by KRK, iZotope’s Dialogue Match, Waves V11 & More
KRK Systems welcomes the CLASSIC 5 to their studio monitor lineup.
Incorporating over 30 years of innovation, KRK’s CLASSIC 5 was designed using concepts from the brand’s previous ROKIT lines to deliver the same high-quality mixes that customers have come to expect from KRK.
True to their name, the CLASSIC 5 monitors are packed with a multitude of time-tested classic features, including an innovative bi-amped Class A/B amplifier with built-in automatic limiter and a low-resonance enclosure for minimized distortion and colorization. Additionally, the 5″ lightweight, glass-Aramid composite woofer delivers clear midrange and tighter bass, and a 1″ soft dome tweeter with optimized waveguide provides smooth, pristine, and articulate highs up to 35KHz—ensuring detailed imaging in the listening position.
The KRK CLASSIC 5 also features a front-slotted bass port, which reduces boundary coupling and allows for flexible positioning within a room. With high- and low-frequency controls, you can adjust the monitor’s sound to your environment and preference, adding versatility and improved accuracy for mixes that translate in any setting. Additionally, multiple input connections (XLR, 1/4″, and RCA) ensure the CLASSIC 5 will seamlessly integrate into any system configuration, allowing for universal connectivity.

iZotope launches Dialogue Match.
Dialogue Match is a new time-saving tool for audio post-production, and the first to automatically learn and match the sonic character of dialogue recordings. It is also the first product to combine brand-new machine learning from iZotope with ground-breaking reverb technology from Exponential Audio’s product line, which was acquired by iZotope earlier this year.
Re-recording mixers that are responsible for delivering the final sound mix for films and television programs often need a way to quickly match dialogue from lavalier, boom mics, and ADR, in order to create a seamless and cohesive dialogue performance. With Dialogue Match, you can analyze audio to extract a sonic profile, then apply the profile to any other dialogue track for fast and easy environmental consistency in scene recordings, allowing you to complete the tedious process of matching production dialogue to ADR in seconds, rather than hours.
For re-recording mixers and ADR editors, Dialogue Match is an unprecedented time-saver. Tonal characteristics can be matched between a boom and a lavalier microphone, localized audio can automatically be matched to the original language, and global snapshots and reference profiles can be saved or loaded.
Dialogue Match is now available as a standalone AudioSuite plugin for $599. iZotope does not currently support its use for any host application other than Pro Tools 11 or later.
