iZotope releases RX 8 and announces updates to flagship suites.

iZotope furthers their popular RX audio repair software with version 8, boasting crucial new improvements.

RX, which has made audio repair easier for musicians and post professionals for over a decade, continues to be the industry-standard audio repair tool used on countless albums, movies, and TV shows to restore damaged, noisy audio to pristine condition. SILIKA is based on an extraordinarily complex harmonic distortion generator, but operationally is a relatively simple compressor with a familiar feature set. All of its distortions are controlled with the Input knob, which can be switched and blended to taste. The resulting signal then gets passed to a compressor/limiter with 4 available ratios, standard Attack/Release/Threshold/Mix controls, and sidechain filtering options which, while simple, allow for a dramatic reshaping of the compressor’s behavior.
