How to Add Organic Textures to Your Sound | Trap Production Basics
In this trap production basics video, Cameron (aka Venus Theory) looks at adding an organic texture underneath loops and sounds in Cubase 11 to bring new life to your music production. Cameron creates a basic electric piano loop in Retrologue 2, adding the fx pedal board and ambient chords effects, as well as some tremolo, DaTube and Bitcrusher for added interest.
He adds a field recording of a plastic bag, with Roomworks SE for a more metallic sound, taming the sound with an equaliser. Using the Expander in the latest Cubase release, Cameron uses the side-chain to trigger the texture, making for a very dynamic effect. Demonstrating the same effect with an 808 kick drum, this highlights how you can create even more interesting sounds for all genres of music in the premium music software by Steinberg.
