New Gear Alert: API “Select” Range, Portable PA from JBL, Focusrite x Mastering The Mix & More

API announces limited edition “API Select” range of products.

The API Select series was specifically designed to be the perfect complement to API’s classic range of products.

Designed, built, and tested at the API factory in Jessup Maryland, API Select is specifically engineered to complement API’s classic mix of mic pre’s, equalizers, and compressors. The company is introducing several different API Select products to mark the new line’s debut.

Rack mount gear includes the T12 Tube Mic Preamplifier, the T25 Tube Compressor, the SR22 Dual Channel Compressor, and the SR24 Dual Channel Equalizer. Two new guitar pedals complete the line’s introduction; the TranZformer GTR for guitar equalization, and the TranZformer CMP for compression effects. Both pedals are designed to fit into a standard pedalboard, and both use standard 9 volt power supplies.

Units are now shipping, and all API Select products feature API’s industry-exclusive five year warranty. For further details, visit apiaudio.com.

Austrian Audio announces the Hi-X15 & Hi-X25BT headphones.

Slated for launch later this year, Austrian Audio debuts two new attractive sets of cans.

The new Hi-X15 closed-back headphones and the Hi-X25BT are the workhorses of the award-winning Austrian Audio Hi-X series, bringing the crystal-clear listening experience of High Excursion technology to everyday use. They’re perfect for studio, stage, rehearsal room, on tour, or practicing at home.

The sophisticated folding design of the Hi-X15, rare in this price range, makes them easy to store and carry. They are extremely robust, thanks to the durable all-metal hinge and bow. The closed construction and good insulation of the Hi-X15 headphones open up many areas of application: in studio recording sessions, as a monitor on stage, and as a reliable companion in the rehearsal room.

The Hi-X25BT gives you ultimate listening flexibility. You no longer need to change headphones for different tasks or locations. If you’re wearing them in the studio, working on a record or a mix, you’ll connect with analog or digital audio. When you’re ready to drive home, simply unplug and keep listening to your music via Bluetooth. If you happen to get a call while wearing the headphones, answer it with the built-in microphone.

The Hi-X15 will be available in September 2021, priced at $119; the Hi-X25BT will be available in December 2021, priced at $179.
