Alva 12-Channel ‘Nanoface’ Now Shipping
The Alva Nanoface – announced a year ago at Musikmesse – is now shipping. The 12-channel 96 kHz bus-powered USB Audio/MIDI interface provides six audio I/Os, a MIDI-in + 2 MIDI-outs.
The Nanoface gives you: four analog inputs – two of them equipped with mic preamps – and four analog outputs, allowing for monitoring of two stereo signals at the same time; a Hi-Z instrument input and headphone output; single MIDI input and dual MIDI Outputs; and Digital Optical SPDIF input and output.
The analog gains for the four inputs, all output levels and features like phantom power and hardware monitoring are all controlled via the big silver rotary encoder directly on the Nanoface.
According to the product announcement: “The Nanoface is designed as partner of modern digital audio workstations. There are no software option dialogs or an integrated mixer. Just a high-speed driver.”
At retail, the Nanoface is selling for $349. It is both Mac and PC compatible. Alva is a German manufacturer, and partner company to RME.
