Blue Microphones Acquires Summit Audio
Blue Microphones has just announced that it has acquired the assets of Summit Audio Inc., manufacturer of high-end signal processors and mic preamps.
Summit Audio’s production, sales and support will continue under the ownership of Blue Microphones.
With the acquisition, Blue Microphones will take over Summit Audio’s production, sales and support and will be expanding the availability of Summit Audio products through improved supply and distribution, in addition to continuing new product development under the Summit brand.
Blue Microphones has retained former Summit President Erik Papp as the head of business development for Blue’s Signal Processing Division.
Blue CEO John Maier commented, “Acquiring Summit was a natural next step for Blue as we continue to grow and expand our studio and live microphone lines. Now, supplemented with Summit’s high-quality mic preamps and signal processors, we can bring a more complete offering to market and further our mission to deliver the highest-quality sound to our customers.”
Blue Microphones will continue the production of all current Summit product lines, such as the ECS-410 Everest channel strip and the TLA-100A tube leveling amplifier, under the Summit name. Customer support, marketing, and sales will be resourced from the Blue Microphones team.
Effective immediately, orders for Summit Audio products can be directed to orders@summitaudio.com, as Blue has initiated efforts to increase product supply moving forward.
