Blue Microphones and Jack Joseph Puig Design Luxury Studio For The House of Rock
Blue Microphones has just unveiled a $3.5 million luxury home recording studio in Santa Monica – which they designed and curated in collaboration with mixer/producer Jack Joseph Puig (U2, Lady Gaga, the Rolling Stones), Vintage King, SSL, Audio Perception, JSX Audio and other audio technology partners.
The studio occupies the top floor of a $20-million Santa Monica estate created by House of Rock, the company that’s also producing and promoting music-themed events in the unique space.
Blue Microphones was also the lead curator for the lavish studios designed inside of Esquire House, a similar project hosted by Esquire Magazine.
The House of Rock studio is equipped with the complete line of premium microphones from Blue, top-of-the-line vintage equipment from Vintage King, the world’s first wraparound SSL Duality console, custom Barefoot speakers and products from other technology partners, including Audio Perceptions, Fender, Waves, JSX Audio, Dell and Skullcandy. Additionally, the studio houses a Gretch drum kit that was provided by Drum Doctors.
According to Blue’s announcement…
“Every single detail was crucial to creating this $3.5 million room, from the custom equipment, to the suede herringbone floors, the special insulation and padding in the ceiling and walls, the bass traps and the vintage belt wall at the back of the sound booth. Not just limited to the studio, the entire house is hot-synched with mic cable, fiber optics and digital lines so that artists can record anywhere, such as the great room, library, or outdoor stage.”
Jack Joseph Puig added: “Each space offers a different acoustical environment. With its books and art, the library will sound thick, warm and intimate, with no echo; the great room, with its high vaulted ceiling, means the sound will be bright and splashy.”
Until the charitable sale of the house, the House of Rock will host recording sessions daily for invited artists to experience the studio, while charity concerts will utilize the outdoor stage. All studio production and recording assistance is being handled by the Blue Microphones’ engineering team.
