Escape to New York Festival Announced for Southampton, NY, August 5-7th

The creator of the UK’s festival event, The Secret Garden Party UK, has announced the launch of Escape to New York.

A new festival, Escape to New York, arrives in the region this August.

A creative art, music and interactive performance party, Escape to New York is a pop-up destination community and independent experiential music and lifestyle festival. It will take place on Shinnecock Nation land adjacent to Southampton, New York, from August 5th through 7th, 2011.

The event will include the world’s biggest brunch at a live music festival, installation and performance art, experimental theater, and high-end camping, aka “Glamping”.

Escape to New York will also feature a safe children play area for families, shade areas, traditional Shinnecock arts and crafts and food, and three days/nights of music and known heritage acts.

In addition, attendees are invited to help create the party’s content. According to festival organizers, this makes Escape to New York the first curated user generated content party in the US.

Tickets go on sale April 26, 2011 at http://www.escape2ny.com. The talent line up will be announced within the next few weeks.
