This coming Monday, August 29, BTF Concerts will present ROCK THE SCHOOLS CONCERT 2011, starting 7:30 PM at the Gramercy Theatre.

Tyler Hilton and a suite of stars will be at ROCK THE SCHOOLS on Monday, August 29th in NYC.

This intimate show is a benefit to support and promote music programs in NY state schools. It will feature special acoustic sets by emerging artists including Dion Roy, Actor/Singer/Songwriter Tyler Hilton (“One Tree Hill,” Walk the Line), and Pop Sensation/Singer/Songwriter Ryan Cabrera, with special guests Locksley, and Val Emmich. The concert will be hosted by Z100’s Trey Morgan and is sponsored by Live Nation.

“It’s about keeping music in schools and building programs. The only way we’re going to have future artists is if we give people the opportunity,” says Rock the Schools co-headliner Ryan Cabrera. “If there’s no arena for people to learn, study and get better, then we’re going to miss out.”

“I took piano lessons, I took guitar lessons but it wasn’t until I was in school and they were teaching me how to play in a group … the first time I ever played bass guitar was in jazz band, “ says co-headliner, Tyler Hilton. “Now if I need to write out music, I can do it. [School music program] was a huge important part for me. I can’t imagine what else I would do except for music.”

“Every kid should have the opportunity with music that I had. We need to encourage students to pursue their passion for music by providing them with a path to explore their creativity. We’ve made it our goal to do what we can to preserve that path,” says Alaina Bendi, Partner at BTF Concerts and Co-Founder of the Bendi Trombley Foundation.
