Event Alert: The Music Building Opens Up for Social Media Week Tonight, Thurs. 2/16, 7:00 PM

In honor of Social Media Week, NYC’s famed Music Building is inviting artists and audio professionals alike to join them at a free open house (registration required) tonight, Thursday, February 16th, 7:00 PM.

Take the opportunity to step inside an NYC cornerstone tonight.

Here’s the schedule:

7-8 PM – Discover the 33-year history of the Music Building via guided tours.

8-9 PM – Discussion on music and art networks, community management, and “social real estate,” led by Roget Lerner, CEO of the Music Building, and Ruhi Shamin of the Music Building.

9-10 PM – Mingling and live performance by Music Building bands.

“Discover The Music Building, a 12-story rehearsal facility established in 1979 in Times Square, and its ventures into the world of transmedia, social real-estate and live music experiences.  The Music Building is a Manhattan cultural staple, as past tenants include Madonna, Billy Idol, Metallica, Interpol and The Strokes, and current tenants are creating the NYC local scene of today.
