Although the MCP5 has just been officially announced today, there are already two on order:
Creative Sound, a film post production facility in France, has chosen a large format Harrison MPC5 for their new facility located near the popular Rue du Commerce area of central Paris. The new MPC5 will be in a new 450 cubic meters film mixing stage that will also include Dolby’s new Atmos immersive 3D sound system. Twin producer desks mounted at 10° on the far left and right ends will round out the “wrap-around” console surface that will span 18.5 feet (5.75m).
There’s also one scheduled for LA — Sony Pictures has ordered a Harrison MPC5 digital film mixing console for the newly renovated Stage 17 in Culver City, 17 Harrison MPC console systems purchased by Sony Pictures over the last 23 years. This console will include a 144 channel Harrison Xrange 64bit processing engine, a full suite of Harrison Xtools film specific plug-ins, and an MPC5 control surface featuring 40 faders with 32 full featured input strips and Harrison’s patented ESP Waveform displays.
