Indaba Music Launches Contest to Remix Weezer’s “Love is the Answer”

Online music creation network Indaba Music has partnered with Weezer to launch a remix contest featuring the song “Love is the Answer” off their latest studio record, Raditude.

A public vote will determine the top 10 winners, and each will receive a signed copy of the new album and be featured on Weezer’s website and MySpace page.

The grand prize winner with the best remix will additionally receive an opportunity to collaborate with Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo through Indaba’s online digital audio platform and create an entirely new song.

The contest launched yesterday, February 10, and will continue for four weeks, after which a two-week voting period will take place. The band, along with an A&R executive from Interscope/Geffen and Indaba Music, will also pick the top remixes among the semi-finalists to be commercially released. Each winning composer will be paid the appropriate royalties for his or her contribution.
