iZotope Introduces Neutron at AES 141 – Intelligent Mixing Assistant and Masking Meter
A few weeks ago, we posted about a free spectral mixing plug-in from iZotope called Neutrino. Today, iZotope has announced a Neutrino’s father version of the plug-in, Neutron, and Neutron Advanced – Now hosting industry first mixing technologies that provide a quicker path to the creative side of mixing.
Neutron’s two technologies are Track Assistant, and Masking Meter. The analysis intelligence within Neutron allows Track Assistant to automatically detect instruments, recommend the placement of EQ nodes, and set optimal settings for other modules. Masking Meter, another industry first, allows users to visually identify and fix perceptual frequency collisions between instruments.

For those intimidated by artificial intelligence in the domain of creativity, fret not! As Mark Ethier, CEO and co-founder of iZotope, says, “Neutron is smart, but you’re still in charge. We envision Neutron being the helpful tool you’ve always wanted. Neutron and Neutron Advanced will be available October 5th, 2016. Neutron Advanced will also be available as part of iZotope’s new Music Production Bundle 2, which includes: Ozone 7 Advanced, Nectar 2 Production Suite, VocalSynth, Trash 2 Expanded, RX Plug-in Pack, and Insight.
