Jayhawks Founder Mark Olson Signs with Ryko Records (NYC), New Release in July

NYC-based Ryko Records has signed Mark Olson, founder of the acclaimed Americana band The Jayhawks and an influential solo artist whose catalog spans 25 years, will be releasing his new full-length, Many Colored Kite, on Ryko Records on July 27, 2010.

Many Colored Kite is the follow-up to 2007’s Salvation Blues. The album was produced and engineered by Beau Raymond (Devendra Banhart, Little Joy, Mark Olson and Gary Louris) and features the core group of Olson, Neal Casal and Danny Frankel. Harmonies were also contributed by Olson’s girlfriend/musical partner, Ingunn Ringvold.
