Kaleidoscope Sound Hosts Sessions with Swingadelic
Swingadelic, the New York City area’s “little big band” was with engineer Sal Mormando recently at Kaleidoscope Sound (Union City, NJ) working on their fifth CD release, “The Other Duke”.

Kaleidoscope is equipped with a 48-channel API Legacy Plus analog console with Uptown automation. The studio also features a 600 sq. ft. live room and 1909 Steinway B piano rebuilt by Faust Harrison Pianos, among many other technical highlights.
The upcoming Swingadelic album is a tribute to Duke Pearson, a noted bandleader, composer, arranger, pianist, and A&R man for Blue Note Records during the 60’s and 70’s. Aside from his own releases, Pearson produced and played on many Stanley Turrentine and Donald Byrd records of that era, and around that same time produced his most well known composition “Cristo Redentor” with Byrd.
Ten Duke Pearson tunes were arranged by various Swingadelic band members, which included Audrey Welber/alto sax, Paul Carlon/tenor sax & flute, Jeff Hackworth/baritone sax, Carlos Francis and Albert Leusink/trumpets, Rob Susman, Rob Edwards & Rob Fournier/trombones, Boo Reiners/guitar, John Bauers/piano, Paul Pizzuti/drums and Dave Post/bass.
Swingadelic also plays the first Monday of each month at Maxwells in Hoboken.
