LA Event Alert: “Inside the Studio” Drum Recording Workshop with Greg Wurth, 11/18
Greg Wurth is a person to learn from.
Inventor of the Oracle Summing Mixer, Wurth knows his audio and has been in the studio with the likes of Steve Vai, Tony MacAlpine, Tracii Guns and Mary J. Blige.
Now he’s making this hard-won knowledge super-accessible with his Inside the Studio series of workshops, which will see him teaching at top facilities around Los Angeles. It starts with the “Drum Recording Workshop” on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 17 Hertz Studio (Metallica) in North Hollywood.

For a span of eight hours, attendees will be with top drummer Shane Fitzgibbon (L.A. Guns, Jeremiah Mountain), as Wurth leads hands on experience throughout the entire process of recording drums. Learning about and experimenting with different mics and outboard as well as various mic placements, will be on the agenda.
Also on tap for the L.A. drums day — special guest speaker Derek Bargaehr of Vanguard Audio Labs, who will be bringing Vanguard Audio Labs mics to test and use throughout the workshop. One of these microphones will include Vanguard’s latest release, the V44S Stereo Condenser.
